Always with a focus on fitness and health, Chris Hecht designed and assembled the fitness room at Graland Country Day School. As a member of the PE department since 1999, Chris currently teaches six PE classes to students in grades K-6. However, coaching various sports teams allows Chris the chance to work with all age groups at Graland. He typically coaches football, conditioning in the winter and baseball. He has also coached basketball and lacrosse in the past.
Chris has advanced degrees in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise. He also has a master’s in physical education. He is a National Strength and Conditioning Association-certified strength and conditioning specialist and a professional member of the American College of Sports Medicine Alliance.
The best part of working at Graland for Chris is the opportunity to work with students every day and the ability to design a flexible curriculum around maximizing each student’s athletic potential. When he’s not teaching or coaching, Chris can usually be found working out and lifting weights. Outside of school he likes traveling, watching movies and being with his friends.
